Livros que Li em 2006

Li dezesseis livros este ano, quatro abaixo do número mínimo que me proponho a cada volta que a Terra dá ao redor do Sol. O melhor de todos considero ser Misto Quente, do Charles Bukowski, seguido de A Busca, Twisty Little Passages e A Harmonia do Mundo.

A velocidade da luz é de 300.000km/s. A lua está a +- 300.000km de distância da Terra, então a distância dela é de 1 segundo luz. Você acha que a lua está longe? Então veja isso…

O Sol está a 8 minutos luz de distância (480 vezes mais longe do que a lua)
A estrela mais próxima do Sol (Alfa Centauro), está a +-4 anos luz de distância.
A via-láctea (nossa galáxia) tem 100.000 anos luz de largura.
Andrômeda é a galáxia mais próxima da Via-Láctea, e está a 2.000.000 de anos luz de distância.

A Terra tem +- 5 bilhões de anos.
O Universo tem +- 15 bilhões de anos.

Semana passsada acabei de ler o livro Contato. Já havia visto o filme quando passou no cinema mas sempre quis lê-lo. Acabei comprando-o num sebo a algumas semanas atrás.

Realmente o livro é muito bom. Vale a pena, mesmo para quem já viu o filme e sabe a história. O final é muito interessante e não tem no filme. Admiro cada vez mais Carl Sagan por ser tão eclético.
