Ontem fizemos mais um drop na Nazaré, pena que começou a chover e só deu para descer a ladeira umas 3 vezes. Eu estava bem psicologicamente e acho que conseguiria ter boas colocações no drop.
Isso me lembrou de uma frase que li no fórum de speedboarding da ncdsa: Speedboarding is very much mental and all about being comfortable. E isso é uma das coisas que gosto neste esporte.
A parte mental é sempre importante em qualquer atividade, mas neste caso é essencial. Se você não estiver relaxado e focado no que está fazendo, irá cair. E cair no downhill speed, apesar de ser algo que irá acontecer mais cedo ou mais tarde, é algo sempre crítico. Neste esporte descemos ladeiras a mais de 60km/h, chegando a 80, 90km/h em algumas situações. Andar de skate nesta velocidade já é algo meio extremo, cair então pode ser muito perigoso.
O medo e o domínio dele é a chave para o speedboarding. Quanto mais medo você tiver, menos se sentirá confortável e mais travada a pessoa ficará. Quanto mais relaxado e confiante, maior tranqüilo será o drop.
Este final de semana fui para a praia ajudar o meu sogro a arrumar um pouco a sua casa de praia. Eu nunca tinha quebrado concreto e foi uma boa experi�ncia, apesar de ser um trabalho bem pesado. Sa�mos (Bel, Natan, Odair e Marines) no s�bado a tarde, depois das 15:00h. No s�bado ficamos arrumando as luzinhas de natal e no domingo foi a quebra��o de uma rampa de concreto para fazer um jardim. Hoje estou meio do�do. 🙂
Finalmente fiz meu primeiro podcast! Acesso direto ao arquivo MP3 ou cadastre o rss feed no seu agregador de �udio (iPodder, etc). Este podcast tem dura��o de 50 minutos, em 8,8Mb de dados.

Well, I don’t know if the noise problem in my podcast is really about the microphone quality. I’ve already tested two micros and they had the same problem. Today I’m planning to go to a local audio specialized store and see what the guy there say about that. Cross your fingers friends, a better podcast audio quality will come after that! 🙂

Today we did a very nice drop at Nazaré Street. The gang was the regular CWB Speed Guys (Lat, Gui, Garais, Maito and myself) plus Davi.
It was a good drop because so many people had accidents in the last month and it’s nice to see all of then recovering and speedboarding again. Just to remember, Lat fell down in Alphaville and had a dislocated elbow; Maito hit a eletric pole in a rainy evening (gui and I fell down also, he got a fissure in one of his fingers and I had a hurt chest) and Davi hit an guard-rail when he tried to drift from a luge that had a hard slow down in front of him.
Men, this sport hurts! I do like it a lot, but already started to think the pros and cons. It’s a bad felling start to think about that. When I did skydiving ten years ago I had the same feeling; it’s a mix of fear, adrenaline and exciting. Well, I’ll do my best to skate safe and do not get hurt, to learn and be confident with my level of expertise and do not push to much the envelope. I do not want to be in the bleeding edge; one mistake and you can get really bad.
I’m doing some audio tests to eventually do a podcast by my own. The problem right now is all about noise. I spend almost 2 hours that sunday doing many different setups trying to reduce the noise but no one of them worked well. The real problem is that I have to use the computer mix to mix all the sounds (right now is just voice and sound) together. When I have to do that the mic has to be “on” all the time, as well as the PCM.
What I do not want to do is edit the show after I record it. I do prefer to do everything “live” and mix all the stuff in just one time. I do not have enough time and I do not want to spend one hour more just to do a post production in the show. What the heck!
Now I’m starting to understand the real power of blogs! The trackback feature is, for me, the most important one, because it provides a way to integrate and to notify that someone talked about your blog in his/her blog. I was upset when I’ve heard about that because blogger, the blog that I use, do not have support to trackbacks, but, as Google is your friend, within minutes a located a web site service called Haloscan that provide it. Now I’m a happy blogger user that is trackback enabled. 🙂
And to continue in the search of the Holly Grail of Blog, the ultimate truth about this wonderful tool, I now have an rss news agregator software installed in my Linux machine. It’s a kde aplicattion called, you guess, Akregator. It’s cool and works ok to me. It is tray integrated, and when not open, the akregator shows the number of posts that are not read yet in the tray windows. Cool!
Ok, I’m a vegetarian for one year and a half that just discovered podcasting. That said I’ve saw a post from Julie Leung blog about her two years daughter. She said that her daughter learned two new words “bloggercon and Burger King”. I’m not here to say that Elisabeth does not have to eat meat, no way. I respect the options that people made and expect that people too respect my options.
What I’de like to point is that the meat industry just try to do that; get the people from their infancy and transform they in meat eaters. I also have a two years old boy that did not get any meat since he was born. Natan is a perfect child and all his medical charts are ok. He’s a happy baby that do not eat killed animals (any kind) to live. And we’ll try to show him that he can live a good like without eating any sort of animals to live. And, of course, when he gets old enough to make his own decisions, he’ll choose to stays in a vegetarian diet or not.
Julie, please do not get this personally. I’ve just use your post to show a point.
